I’ve been thinkin’ about it,
once again.
This mysterious missing.
And what it is my friend.
I’ve been thinkin’ about it.
I think it’s true.
What it is to me, what it is to you
Have you been thinkin’ about it…
…like I do?
We could be laughin’ about it.
Crying about it.
Living without it, dying to have it.
Hopin’ we find it.
Trying to hold it, or letting it go
…(Or letting it go)
Awake or asleep
Or that space in-between
Got no reason to doubt it…
if you know what I mean.
You gotta believe it.
When sleep don’t relieve it.
I been thinkin’ about it…
There’s where I’ve been.
And what I’ve seen.
There’s what you’ll hear,
and what I mean.
And I’ve been thinkin’ about it,
once again.
You see what I do,
is not who I am.
If it’s all about me,
What about “them”?
And I’ve been thinkin’ about it,
once again.
I’m gonna buy a big boat, and go sailing, alone past the edge of fear.
Here there be monsters, from far away, and those we keep so near.
I’m gonna lay right down, in that place, with a million things to do.
And wake to find myself, is still me, and you are still you…
And we’ll be laughin’ about it.
